MY STORY

Behind the Words

When I came into this world I was exactly sixteen weeks early, weighted only six hundred and fifty grams. In 1997 Turkey had around less than 10% survival rate for premature babies, however despite all the circumstances I somehow managed to cling to life. I was always called out for being a rather stubborn individual, yet I also perceived myself as relentless and unwavering despite the odds. Perhaps I was too stubborn to let go, and developed this urge to keep on fighting. Throughout my life I reflected these traits throughout my academic career as well as in my social endeavors. I act with sheer determination as if my life depended on it, for I am well aware that I have a purpose to serve in my future life.

As a part of my first digital publication project I learned about setting up a website in order to publish my own collection contemporary poems, focusing on accessibility and attraction for the audience. While some of the poems had no definite themes, a group of them were published under the title of Mundane and Nostalgia. The website was advertised via Instagram and Facebook.
